A very special ceremony to have been invited to

I have been looking at turangi accommodation for the last week as I have been invited to a special ceremony where the local Maniapoto iwi of Tuwharetoa are having a special blessing ceremony of a newly carved Waka, or canoe, which is to be floated onto Lake Taupo for the first time. I have been photographing and documenting for various councils of the Waikato and Central Plateau regions and it shall be an honor to attend such an important ceremony like this one coming. I chose a beautiful place to stay that is situated only minutes from the Tongariro river, where one can usually see plenty of fishermen in their waders, casting out with their fly rods, trying to get a bite from a rainbow trout. I look forward to the ceremony and I hope my photo’s do the day justice.
