Raising a Pig for the pork products

After spending so much money on ham and pork products, I wondered about raising a pig and how hard it would be to do that for myself. I’m not sure where it would live. I think at first, it might be small enough to live in the house with me but I’ve heard they grow big quickly. I suppose I could create a space for it in the garage but I’m not really sure how much room would be needed. I also guess that there would be room in the yard for it to roam around but I don’t want a big mud pit back there. I wonder if pigs really need a muddy place to roll around in? If I could make the space I think I could really do it! I don’t know anything about butchering so I would have to get someone else to take care of that for me.
