    I Will Stand in for My Husband to Give One of the Wedding Speeches

    When my daughter gets married next week, her father will not be there to walk her down the aisle. He was killed in Iraq some time ago. I know that this will be hard for both my daughter and myself. Her daddy always looked forward to this special day in his daughter’s life. It falls now on my shoulders to give one of the special wedding speeches, the one that a father usually offers to his little girl. I think that I can make it through this. The groom is an amazing young man. My husband would have approved of him. It will be a privilege to wish them well.
