I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed but doesn’t it seem like a lot of Small Business Marketing is bad, and some of it isn’t just bad, it’s epicly bad. I think it’s because a lot of people think that because they’re open for business, people want to do business with them and when somebody sees one of their advertisements they’re going to instantly want to run in and give them money. Here’s a better way to think about it. If it’s on TV, assume they’re ready to push the fast forward button or go get up and get a sandwich. If it’s sent in the mail, assume they’re sorting their mail over the trash can. You need to grab them by the throat and get their attention or you’ll lose your chance.
