Leather dog collars are used to attach identification bands and to restrain your canine pets. These types of collars are often chosen for their durability and for their longevity because leather is tough to chew. Leather is also very strong so you can be sure that even your bigger dogs can stay put with a leather collar and a leash on. For identification purposes, you can choose collars where you can embroider the name onto the collar, or the type where you attach a nameplate. Leather dog collars can also come in fluorescent design to make identifying your dog easier. Fluorescent dog collars can be pre-made with the dog’s name or you can have the dog’s name engraved on a nameplate and attached to the collar. For restraint, you can opt for dog collars with double rings: one ring that sits on the back of the dog’s neck and one ring right next to the buckle, for attaching the leash.
